Asking for Help

Folks — 22 hours to go til I’m standing ankle-deep in the water waiting for my race to start and watching the pros swim off into the distance.  I can’t believe it’s almost here… but it is.  At this point, many of you have generously contributed to my fundraising efforts for the Canadian and American Cancer Societies – for which I am very grateful.  Others may still be waiting for “the right moment”.  Well there’s no better time than NOW!

I set some pretty aggressive goals for my fundraising.  And even resetting my expectations to something a little more achievable, I still have a long way to go!  I can only get there with your help. I would like to raise $14,030… that’s $100 for every mile I will swim, bike and run tomorrow.  Right now, with your help we have raised a little over $3000!  That’s more than 22% of the way there.

Let’s see if we can get some more donations rolling in today… I’d like to go to bed tonight knowing we nailed this goal! Maybe we won’t et all the way to $14,000… but we can certainly do better than $3000!

Do what you can.  Give if you can give.  Forward my appeals to your friends and family if you can’t.  We all know someone who has been touched by cancer.

I appreciate and thank all those that have already given.  I thank in advance all those that will give now.  And I ask that if you cannot give… please simply share the links to this post with your friends and family to give them the opportunity.
