Woot, woot!!! Two hours put in successfully on the trainer, on the new Cervelo S5 without a hitch! No flats, two bottles of water mounted in the new cages and drained during the ride. Position seems comfortable – though I do wonder whether I’ll be lowering the handlebar a wee bit more before I’m done dialing it in.
All the data from the ride seems solid too. Kept my cadence steady ay between 80 and 85 rpm (I’m a bit of a masher compared to the average roadie!), and power seems to have been hovering around 120 watts. Heart rate nice and steady in the high 140s to low 150s …
And earlier today, running at the gym was equally positive. A nice easy 10 km run — slow and steady … Still focused on just building that aerobic base I’m going to need so badly when I finally get into my “real training”.
And now I’m sitting in the tub, soaking in epsom salts and drinking a wee, congratulatory glass of whiskey and about to enjoy a few minutes of reading a magazine – knowing my workouts are done for the day, and I still have a an hour before it hits midnight!
Sooooo nice. Goodnight all.
